Blinking E-cigarette: The Causes

The puff cigarette is a convenient, easy-to-use, and popular tool for quitting tobacco. It has become the ideal solution for many former smokers looking for a less harmful alternative. But just as you were enjoying your e-cigarette, did it start to blink and stop producing vapour? This may come as a surprise, but it generally isn’t a problem, just a sign of low battery or low e-liquid level.

Discover all of the reasons why your puff cigarette is blinking with X-Bar

What Is a Puff Electronic Cigarette?

Generally speaking, a puff is a disposable electronic cigarette. In order to make these e-cigarettes more environmentally friendly and affordable, X-Bar created refillable puff cigarette models, the perfect combination between a classic e-cigarette and a puff. While a disposable puff requires little maintenance, you still need to recharge the battery and refill the liquid reservoir of your rechargeable e-cigarette to avoid unpleasant surprises like a blinking red or blue light, which indicates a low battery, low e-liquid level, or a contact failure.

Why Is My Puff Cigarette Blinking: The Causes

If you see a blue or red light on your puff cigarette, it is probably not a sign of a problem or malfunction, but simply an indicator of low battery or lack of e-liquid.

If you notice the blue or red LED on your disposable puff cigarette is blinking, it simply means that it is empty and you need to replace it with a new one. On the other hand, if you are vaping with a conventional e-cigarette or a rechargeable puff, the light may indicate that the battery is completely depleted and that it needs a full recharge

If your puff has an integrated battery, opt to recharge via a USB port instead of a wall charger at a maximum of 1 Amp. Did you know that the slower the charge, the more the battery is protected from overheating? If your electronic cigarette works with an interchangeable battery, simply plug your drained battery into a USB port and replace it with a fully charged one.

The blue or red blinking of your electronic cigarette, whether disposable or not, can also indicate that it has run out of e-liquid. This liquid, made of vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol, and flavourings, creates a vapour. If you have a disposable puff cigarette, you will need to replace it. As a general rule, a puff cigarette lasts about 650 puffs, or more than two packs of traditional cigarettes. If you have a refillable puff, you can insert a pod in the flavour of your choice with or without nicotine. X-Bar offers a variety of flavours inspired by the taste of candy, drinks, tobacco, fruit, or even mint.

Contact Failure Problems

If your electronic cigarette’s LED blinks even though you recently refilled its e-liquid reservoir and recharged its battery, there may be a problem detecting the heating element, junction box, or the clearomiser. To be able to vape your puff again, you need to carry out some minor adjustments. This contact failure or breakdown could be caused by the following:

  • A problem between the heating element and the clearomiser, in which case try  unscrewing and re-screwing them
  • A problem between the junction box and the clearomiser, in which case you can clean the screw thread using a damp tissue or a cotton bud
  • A faulty heating element, in which case you have no choice but to replace it

How to Repair a Blinking Puff Cigarette?

If the LED on your puff cigarette is blinking, it is probably a sign that the battery or e-liquid level is too low. If you have already refilled and recharged your electronic cigarette and the problem persists, the problem may be caused by an electric current contact failure, so remember to check and clean your puff e-cigarette.

How to Get Your Puff Cigarette Working Again?

If you have a disposable puff cigarette, you simply need to replace it with a new e-cigarette. If your puff is refillable, you will need to make sure that you recharged your battery with a USB port and that you have enough e-liquid left to continue vaping.
