What is an e-liquid?

In an electronic cigarette, as in a puff, the e-liquid is what enables vaping: once placed in the tank, the liquid is heated by the resistor and transformed into vapor. The fuel of your electronic cigarette, e-liquid is responsible for the taste, amount of vapor and nicotine dosage of your puff.

As the formula of this liquid is entirely modifiable according to your preferences, there are an infinite number of blends to personalize according to your vape desires.

As a marker of your taste and personality, the flavor of your e-liquid will determine your future as a vapoteur. However, there are no general rules: your choice of flavor is entirely up to you! Whether you start with classic or more exotic flavors, with an electronic cigarette, a refillable or disposable puff, remember to put your personal enjoyment first.

Choosing an e-liquid with or without nicotine

The nicotine content of each e-liquid varies between 0 mg/ml and 20 mg/ml, according to current European regulations. You can therefore control this amount according to your nicotine consumption goals, by gradually reducing the dose at your own pace.

To help you better visualize the amount of nicotine present in your electronic cigarette, there are several equivalents in terms of the number of traditional cigarettes consumed :

• 0 mg/ml, i.e. no cigarettes ;
• 6 mg/ml corresponds to 5 cigarettes a day;
• 11 mg/ml corresponds to 10 cigarettes a day;
• 16 mg/ml corresponds to 15 cigarettes a day.

Whatever nicotine dose you choose, keep a close eye on any symptoms of overdose (headaches, nausea, vomiting).

Which e-liquids are best for former smokers?

If you want to reduce or stop smoking, puffs or electronic cigarettes offer an excellent alternative.

To find the e-liquid best suited to your preferences, it’s important to try several product combinations, gradually adjusting the mix. To do this, you need to know the general composition of an e-liquid:

• The PG/VG base (80% to 90%) is a blend of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. The purpose of propylene glycol is to bind aromas: it gives a powerful flavor and hit in the throat. Vegetable glycerine, obtained from saponified vegetable oils, maintains the mixture’s hydration level, enabling vapor production.
• Nicotine, ranging from 0 mg to 20 mg;
• Flavors, representing between 3% and 15% of the liquid, which may be natural or artificial;
• Demineralized water, or ethyl alcohol depending on the manufacturer, to liquefy the blend and provide a better throat feel.
